The Museum has served the arts for over 70 years in our community. Your generosity to the annual fund could provide a lifetime of experience to children in our community for programs such as:
- Providing 45,000 school children the opportunity to experience art through free school tours.
- Giving over 100 students from grades K-12 the chance to participate in Tampa Bay’s only student exhibition program and promote their self-confidence and pride.
- Help provide educational toolkits to elementary school teachers based on lesson plans that meet the Sunshine State Standards for visual, language arts, mathematics and social studies.
- Help support our partnership with the Youth Arts Corps, which serves disadvantaged children and children from all economic levels, giving them an opportunity to express their creativity and learn from problem solving while enjoying a cultural and aesthetic experience.
The Museum is a valuable resource to Tampa Bay residents of all ages because of a vision. Georgine Shillard-Smith’s vision was for a “universal creative center where the young-at-heart of all ages might walk with beauty, sharing their new insights in the silent eloquence of art.” Our mission is to bring the best in art ever closer to the daily life of our entire community. We can do this through expanded educational programs, art classes and first class exhibitions.
For your gift of $250.00 or more, we would like to invite you and your family or business to decorate a tile, which would commemorate, honor or remember your family or a loved one with a lasting tribute. Once you have created the tile, we will have the tile fired and hung on the wall of the Education Building here at the Museum after the first of the year.
